Arrived yesterday and checked-in up-stairs -- nice as usual with afternoon tea being offered, with a very nice Catherine doing all of the check-ins.
Came back upstairs for cocktails to find a zoo...a zoo of people and only 3 staff. The staff could not keep up with the full house. Understand that SIOTP is running promotions that offer Executive Club privledges to more rate types and "promotions." Understand from the staff that they have been inundated with the leisure market and that the club has become "quite a mess." But drinks and the food offering was still very nice.
Now comes breakfast. Again, a complete zoo with only 3 people. Many food offerings were gone for periods of a time and food could only be refilled inbetween making coffee and clearing dishes. Clearly they do not have enough people for the volume.
Then comes the breakfast offering. Gone are the great scrambled eggs that they always had, substituted for what a chef that I spoke to was a "lighter Continental type offering." Ther are some hard boiled eggs and a small appetizer sized "fish offer." and a "hot liquid in a little bowl" that no one was touching!
Had the opportunity to speak with another Platinum who said that this menu was new and that when he inquired he was told major cost cutting and that they areetrying to move to a more limited snack-type offering. Then another one overheard us talking and echoed about the new food offering and lack of staff to support.
When I enquired about this, I was told that breakfast was available downstairs.
So, the lounge on the 21st floor has been hit by major cost cuttting. Sorry to see this happen....

Think I will at least go over to the Westin to see what is going on over there ----just as a comparison.
If anyone wants me to check anything out here over the next few days and report back, let me know....
