Anyone know what the deal is with asking about glass bottles in checked luggage at LAX. I was coming from an international flight with duty free booze and checked my carry-on at the service desk after customs. The agent asked if I had any glass bottles. Of course I lied since the bottles were extremely well packed in bubble wrap.

I've never been asked this question anywhere else.
