True. Although I was standing next to the gate agent, and the other person who got the upgrade consistently walked up to the podium and asked the GA if the seat was available. This is why I remember he was number 3 on the list... and since I was ahead of him on the list consistently, from 1 hour before departure to 3 minutes before the departure, I don't somehow think he held a higher status / higher fare class than mine. If he did, he would have triumphed over me long before, not when the door was about to close.
