I would agree with one caveat. CO's domestic FC is quite consistent, but this also means that CO transcon isn't much more enhanced than the ordinary domestic FC (apart form a more elaborate meal service).

While the workhorse of the CO transcon fleet is the 738/739, with its 38" seat pitch, it is possible to fly in greater comfort on UA PS, AA's 767 transcon service, and with VX.

Of course, these "premium" transcon services are only available in the NYC to LAX/SFO markets on these other carriers.

Right now, the closest CO gets to this level of space on transcon is with the occasional 752 EWR-LAX, an a/c which will soon be largely replaced by the domestically-configured 739's.
