It looks like this 'reserve' brand will be used to designate new 'boutique' properties that RC is building (the Pulay Bay seems to only have around 50 villas).
I know that personally, one of the (although certainly not the only) reasons that I avoid RC resorts is because they tend to be too big (leading them to attract a more corporate crowd). If they were to introduce a new collection of smaller resorts that offered true 5* service, I might consider visiting. Of course, whether they can successfully pull this off (with or without a new brand) is seriously in doubt, IMHO.
Absolutely! The thing is, they have Bulgari already, which is a boutique brand. R-C resorts are generally too big and corporate, but also, these days, they are moving relentlessly towards the Marriott model, so this new brand smacks of desperation.
