Tumi for sure. I went through many cheap pieces of luggage in various shapes and sizes throughout college while only travelling a few times a year (holidays, spring break, occasional weekend trip). When I started working I bought the 22" Tumi Gen4 and have taken it on 100k miles this year. It has been around the world, rolled down sidewalks, left in hotel bell desk rooms, checked on various flights, and even lost by the airline in Amsterdam and returned to me 2 days later. I have had it for about a year (granted its been a rough year for the suitcase) and it still looks brand new. From what I hear Tumi is still making quality luggage. Yes, its pricey but if you want something that will last go to a Tumi outlet.

If you are just looking for something more casual, I have colleagues who love Victorinox and you can get a pretty good deal at a Nordstrom Rack
