Wardair (Canada) used to operate transatlantic 727s on a YEG(or was it YXD)-KEF-LGW because Boeing and Douglas didn't want to offend Air Canada by selling their competition 707s or DC8s, so Max just did what he could.
Either way, no one has beaten the 1700+ mile IAH-YYC CRJ flight yet...
