My first post on Flyertalk. I've been lurking on this board and others for some time now and always find useful information.
Here are my thoughts on Priority Pass. I was a member for about 18 months but ended up cancelling my membership. In theory, it sounded great: Reasonable cost, a lot of lounges in major airports in the US and Europe, where I primarily travel. The problem I had with it was that it just didn't seem to fit my travel patterns. For instance, I would fly to ATL from IAD, sometimes taking UA, other times on DL. I would then arrive at the Delta lounge in the terminal I was in to catch my next flight. "Sorry, Sir. The lounge for Priority Pass customers is in the OTHER terminal." Had the same problem in Denver. Granted, the exact Priorty Pass lounges are listed in its online directory but it just seemed like all lounges of a particular airline at a specific airport should be included. And with an airport the size of Hartsfield it was simply more trouble than it was worth to change terminals to visit the alternate lounge when your next flight was only an hour away. One of the earlier posts correctly pointed out that lounges at DL and UA hubs are not all included in Priority Pass, a major drawback if you use those hubs a lot.
Again, that's simply my experience for an 18-month period and not to say that others may have found it to be a good bargain. I did have no problem at all with Priority Pass customer service. As with any travel service, the key is research to determine if the benefits will fit your travel patterns.
