if you buy a shirt from a retailer and decide that it's not quite what you wanted, they are under no obligation to exchange it or refund your money. i would suggest this is the situation with the ticketing rules applicable to many airline tickets. to be fair i've never bought a ticket from BA where i didn't know the main rules applicable to it.
True, but if I buy a shirt and then another customer comes into the shop and offers to pay more, but the shirt is now out of stock, the shop cannot come round to my house, take my shirt, give me another one in a different colour, and tell me to fight customer services if I want a refund.
