Bluenity: FB Social network -- a premature launch
AF-KLM have launched the new social network for Flying Blue members, called delectably (my term) Bluenity.
Trouble is, at last two things have not been checked before launch:
1. The SignUp page for FB members allows a PIN-code of 3 digits. My FB PIN code has 4 digits. Ooooops! What do we call that -- beta testing??
2. The blurb by the FB Blurbies is incredible in the true sense of the word. Apart from the obvious typos and stylos and formulationos, there is the clumsy claim that Bluenity is the first social network launched by an airline, and "the airline" by which one assumes they mean the company AF-KLM which operates, so I believe, a number of airlines, including AF and KL. It is not the first. KL launched Club China in 2006. In March 2007, I attended a very nice launch party for Club Africa, hosted by KLM in Amsterdam. Both Clubs are social networking.
Another classic example of a PR launch not checking its facts, accessibility,,,,,
At times like this, one hopes that "the airline" organises its maintenance better than its PR initiatives!
