The engineering work on this line is nearly complete and as of the new timetable from Dec 14, Virgin are due to launch their 'VHF' timetable, with 3 fast trains per hour between Manchester and London all day Monday to Saturday, and from lunchtime on Sunday.

With so many extra seats to fill, there will be some very attractive fares.
