Well I read the start of this thread & it seems to be the opposite of what someone referred me about. This thread is more about someone not providing change for a twenty. So in essence they are accepting payment, but since you gave them larger denomination, you have paid extra as a courtesy.
Now if you paid them the $2.00 owed with say 200 pennies, then you would have been just as LEGAL to pay what is owed.
I have thought about this & some of the comments. Someone mentioned business could decide what kind of currency they accept. So I guess they could specify they would only accept $2.00 bills & if you dont have them, oh well, you still owe us. Somehow I can understand about not requiring a business to provide change if you give them more than what you owe. But if I pay you what I owe you, then how can you complain about the type of tender. it is ALL LEGAL TENDER !!!!
