Hi all,
Here's the story, as concise as possible--

0. ORF is my home airport, ACA staff.
1. Ticketed tonight ORF-IAD-LAX, last flights of the day, ORF-IAD and IAD-LAX.
2. At checkin, told that ORF-IAD flight is delayed over an hour, I'll miss LAX connection.
3. No later flights tonight ORF-LAX/SNA/LGB/ONT, any airline.
4. Re-booked on first flight tomorrow, ORF-ORD-LAX (0600 departure, checkin 0430).
5. UAX (ACA) at ORF also gave me a hotel room tonight near the airport, plus a $150 UA voucher.

Questions--
Is this appropriate compensation? I believe VDB compensation for a similar situation would have been $600 (am I right?). If so, shouldn't I be given something similar?

I'll be calling UA shortly to confirm tomorrow's flights and get seats, figured I'd see if anybody here had any thoughts/suggestions before I called them to ask.
