One can buy $1000 Marriott cheques with 135,000 points. So that will be my lowest valuation.

However, I sometimes can do four nights at a category 1 hotel for like 25,000 points. Since I do not want to travel outside of business travel, the special vacation packages do not do much for me.

Not sure how value of points will change in 2009.
