Perhaps LH are even able to fill their whY cabin at higher yields. Remember, LH has significant business to and from Germany to the US and also to and from Germany to India.
Therefore, they probably have no reason to discount the longhaul USA to India, especially in whY class.
I actually met someone in sales working for LH/CCU last week. With the reduction in weekly flights to only 3 from 5, the flights are running very full now.
They are in fact worried that they will lose some customers due to non availability of seats.
CCU is different from the rest of India. They don't face the same sort of high peaks and low troughs like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore etc. Things remain more steady there.
