Didn't anyone else see the following in the newspaper article cited by the OP:
Delta is expected to add a flight-segment qualifier to its elite status program that would take effect Jan. 1 of next year.
Despite the dilution of WP benefits, (and the fact I qualify on miles, not segments) this is one plus for all of you who are EQS earning WP members!
