I guess it the fare difference between your fare and the F fare is $150 then yes. Based upon my experience, unless you are on a fairly high fare the difference is going to be more than that. K to A is usually more than that.
As an example, the difference between a K and "up" fare between LGA and ATL a month or so out is approximately $500 RT. I'm not even sure if that A fare would be available at the gate. The difference for the lowest F is $1600.
ATL-LAX difference between K & A and K & F is $600 and $1,500.
M to A or Y to F could be $150.
