And.....you have no problem in flouting the AAdvantage T&Cs, are happy to accept the risk of being met by someone in a suit at the airport when you check-in, losing your illegally purchased upgrade and possibly having your AAdvantage account suspended/restricted.
Go for it! Personally, I'd rather stick to the rules and pay the co-pay.
