2 ticket numbers per pax for redemption flight ?? Should I be worried ??

I would really appreciate advice from more expert travellers

I booked 2 cash plus miles seats in LH F from LHR to MCO. When they dropped F class on the MCO route, we managed to get re-routed in LH F to MIA. So our itinerary is now

  • LHR --> FRA -- > MIA
  • MIA --> FRA --> LHR

As there is no legal same day connection from London, we are flying out LHR to FRA --> overnight in FRA --> FRA to MIA next day.

However I recently went onto checkmytrip.com and all of a sudden each passenger has 2 ticket numbers

So checkmytrip now looks like this (original ticket numbers are shown in bold the new ones that have appeared mysteriously are in italics)

  • Pax 1: Document 236-2XXXXXX89: London - London
  • Pax 2: Document 236-2XXXXXX90: London - London
  • Pax 2: Document 236-2XXXXXX88: London - London
  • Pax 1: Document 236-2XXXXXX87: London - London

I have read some horrific stories about BMI screwing up ticketing of awards with Star Alliance partners and am somewhat concerned.

If it means anything, the re-routing and re-ticketing was done by BMI in the UK (you know, the secret team that handles re-routes that can call out but you cannot contact)

Anyone think I am being unnecessarily concerned or should I be getting on the phone to them and have this investigated further ?

Thanks for your help and advice
