I have been DL gold, and was actually thinking of changing to NW before the merger happened, because I finally flew them TATL and they offer a better product. Now with this really awful three tier award chart, I am definitely gone somewhere else. I fly mostly TATL on award tickets, mostly domestic on work related travel, and mostly TATL on personal paid travel. The 60K minimum for TATL awards that Jeff has introduced is nothing but highway robbery, as are some of his new fees.

So, yes, I support the plan offered by the OP.

BTW, there are some posters here, who also post on a few other boards who I always have a sneaky feeling must really work for the airline. If they do, they of course are not likely to admit it.
