Qualifying Travel: To qualify for this offer, travel must take place between February 17 and March 31, 2004. Passenger must fly a roundtrip to any worldwide destination served by United, United Express or Ted. Roundtrip travel is defined as two one-way trips that depart from and return to the same co-terminal booked in a single reservation under one qualifying ticket number.
Allowable Booking Classes: Qualifying travel may be booked in any booking class in United First, United Business, and United Economy. The fare purchased must be a valid, published fare. This promotion is not valid on government fares.
Min/Max Stay Requirements: First Class roundtrip travel and Business Class roundtrip travel have no stay requirements. Economy Class roundtrip travel may not include a Saturday night stay.
United Mileage Plus Membership Requirement: Passenger must be a member of United's Mileage Plus frequent flyer program and the flights must be credited to the passenger’s Mileage Plus account.

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE FREE COMPANION TICKET:
Valid Carrier: United Airlines/Ted/United Express. No code-share.
Valid Routing: The free companion ticket is valid for roundtrip travel on United, United Express and Ted on any route in the contiguous 48 states where United publishes fares. For residents of Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the free ticket will be valid for roundtrip travel from these locations to the contiguous 48 states. No stopovers or circle trips are allowed.
Advance Purchase: Per the rule of fare purchased. All tickets must be issued by December 15, 2004.
Valid Travel Dates: April 15 to December 15, 2004, except dates noted below.
Blackout Dates: April 16, 18, 2004; July 2, 5, 2004; September 3, 6, 2004; November 24, 28, 29, 2004.
Allowable Fare Types: Purchased fare must be in Y, B, E, M, U, H, Q, V or W booking class. Companion class must be same as purchased fare class. These classes are capacity controlled and might not be available on all flights or on all days of the week when you travel.
Min./Max. Stay: Minimum and maximum stay per the rules of the fare purchased.
Mileage Plus Accrual: Permitted only on the full-revenue fare and NOT permitted on the companion fare.
Ticketing: E-Tickets will be issued where available. Paper tickets are available upon request for the applicable fee (tickets-by-mail are allowed). Both paid and companion tickets must be booked at the same time by United Airlines.
Taxes/Service Charges/Fees: Passenger is responsible for any applicable taxes, fees and charges associated with their free ticket. Passengers will pay a $3.10 per flight segment tax. A flight segment is defined as one take-off and one landing. Passengers will pay the September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 maximum per roundtrip and Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18, which may be collected depending on the itinerary. For travel from Alaska and Hawaii, passengers will pay a $6.90 (each way) international departure tax. For travel from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, passengers will pay a $13.70 (each way) international departure tax. Additionally, for travel from Canada, passengers are responsible for U.S. Inspection Fees of $7 and for all taxes and fees imposed by the Canadian government of up to $24. Additional restrictions may apply.
Transferability: The certificate is nontransferable. The customer named on the front of the certificate must be one of the passengers traveling (either the nondiscounted revenue customer or the companion).
Certificate Restrictions: Not extendible, not combinable with other air travel certificates or discount fare offers (Mileage Plus awards/Silver Wings Plus awards/companion/meeting/group/tour/senior citizen/student/child/travel package/travel industry discount/military/government/joint/interline/wholesale/bulk/prepaid tickets and miscellaneous charge orders). Not replaceable if lost or stolen. No cash value; may not be sold or bartered. Protection for flight irregularities will be on United/Ted/United Express flights only. Discount applies to new purchases only. One companion ticket per certificate redeemed. Companion ticket is only valid for travel when accompanied by the fare-paying passenger. Travel must be roundtrip with both passengers traveling together on the same itinerary. No further discounts may be used toward the fare-paying passenger. Companion discount not applicable on paying passenger’s fare. Certificate may not be used in conjunction with any wholly or partially unused ticket, or with any previously issued nonrefundable ticket.
Refund: Refunds will be determined based on the rules of fare purchased. Certificate will be forfeited once a ticket has been issued and will not be refunded.
Changes: Permitted within the specified travel period. No change in origin/destination. Tickets must be presented together. Tickets may be revalidated for a service charge, where applicable, for each ticket. United Airlines reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
