However, they managed to find a brand new VW Touareg 4x4 with snow tires in MUC, which they are currenty picking up at the airport and driving down to my remote location at the edge of the alps.

So I'll be able exchange the SL500 for the VW tomorrow and will hopefully be able to withstand all snow storms when making my way to and from the gathering. ^
