horrible expedia.com
Let me also add on to the very negative experiences caused by expedia.
In the beginning of August I bought a Lufthanza plane ticket from Sofia, Bulgaria to Frankfurt, Germany for mid of October. However my plans changed and I wanted to either cancel or change the date of the ticket. As I understood the ticket itself was non-refunduble, and the dates they offered me for a change did not suit my plans. Anyways, after calling several times to the call center of Expedia in US (which we know is the only way to make changes in iternerary) from Bulgaria, which itself is quite expensive, they couldn't offer me any other alternative. I decided to contact Lufthanza to see what my options are with the carrier. The call center in Lufthanza was the first to mention that if I cannto get back the money for the ticket I can by all means get the airports fees and taxes which actually were more than the ticket itself. But they said again that Expedia is the one to give me back the money for the fees. So, I call again and guess what, after a 24-hour time for discussion that they needed with superiors I was told that Expedia cannot give me back this money as supposedly there is a law in US saying that US registered companies cannot pay back fees imposed by other countries' governments as they are regarding the airport fees and taxes.
As I'm a lawyer I definitely think that this is in violation of a series of international agreements about trans-border commersial rules and online trade. Not to mention that there's is no where in the world that the end client suffers the lack of understanding and regulation of the commersial relationships between a German carrier and an American agent offering its services all around the world.
So, the only thing I got from this experience is a very painful lesson NOT to DEAL with EXPEADIA ANYWHERE ANYTIME ANYMORE.
I strongly encourage you to do the same!
