This month's LAN magazine has a feature on peruano food in BA - any comments about any of the places described?

Buenos Aires

Status - been around awhile, lost the chef that once made it one of the best - just okay these days

Contigo Perú - one of the more authentic spots for "home cooking" Peruvian - really well done, not too expensive - a bit big and touristy feeling at times

Mamani - don't know it

Mochica - very new, supposed to be good, haven't tried it yet

Primavera Trujillana - hole in the wall in the living room of the chef's home - not quite a "secret" restaurant, as they have a sign and it's completely open to the public. Very basic home cooking.

Zadvarie Doc Restaurat - creative, trendy, very modern style, a little pricey, but worth it.

Osaka - not really a Peruvian restaurant, it's an Asian fusion restaurant chain based out of Lima that has a branch here.

Libélula - creative Peruvian-Japanese fusion - really, really, pricey for the area.

Ceviche - interesting modern style spot, the chef is one of the proteges of the Astrid & Gascon restaurant in Lima, which is considered pretty much the cutting edge of modern Peruvian cuisine.

Bardot Loisir - don't know it

Sipan Cocina Peruana & Pisco Bar - Peruvian-Japanese creative, very pricey, located in the middle of the downtown shopping district and really oriented towards business travelers with expense accounts.

- the list is missing alot of very good spots, like Sabor Norteno (casual home cooking, cheap), Solopescados (some of the best seafood in the city), Moche (former chef of the Peruvian embassy)
