Greater air traffic at O’Hare leads to some flight delays
Dear Mr. BDL-ORD
Greater air traffic at O’Hare leads to some flight delays.
As someone who flies in and out of Chicago, we wanted to make you aware of a challenge travelers have faced at O’Hare International Airport recently.
Air travel has jumped dramatically in the last few months, which has increased congestion at one of the world’s busiest airports. To manage the demands this has placed on Air Traffic Control, it was necessary to slow down the air traffic into and out of O’Hare—leading to some delays. In fact, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) asked United and American to reduce flight schedules at O’Hare by five percent during peak hours.
What we’re doing at United to remedy the situation.
To comply with the FAA request, we are making schedule adjustments to alleviate some of the congestion. Here at United, we’re proud of our on-time record and we’re doing everything possible to maintain the level of service you expect when flying with us. If a flight is cancelled due to FAA compliance, we will contact customers as soon as possible so travel plans can be adjusted. If you have questions or issues at the airport, please see a Customer Service Representative who will be prepared to offer up-to-date flight information and reschedule you if necessary.
We also encourage you to sign up for United EasyUpdateSM for instant notification of schedule changes. Visit united.com/easyupdate for more information about this convenient, free service.
Thanks for your continued loyalty to United. It is appreciated, as always.
