will SQ lounges do everything to keep you out?
I was passing through Sydney on the way back from Melbourne, and thought I would visit the SQ lounge as a PE. I have been there before, and it's nicer, and less crowded than the RCC and has free internet access. The last time, I remember the desk attendant making a big fuss over seeing my *Gold card, for the UA MP number. I managed to convince her that it was the same as on my boarding pass, which said Prem Ex and the MP #.
This time (of course I didn't have my card, who carries that around?), the attendant insisted on the card, and denied me admission because of that.
Is it me, or are they not very welcoming at SQ lounges for their non-members? they seem to want to deny entry at every possibility. I mean, it's good to have strict requirements, but this is incredible (especially considering the boarding pass provides all the same information)!
