When you book a travel package with a travel agent which includes airfare, the agent is a representative of the airline and you are responsible for any airline re-issue charges (once the ticket is issued) just as if you had booked directly with the airline. The most common reissue charges stem from changes that the traveler chooses to make: date changes, itinerary changes, name changes. Each airline sets its reissue fees and they may vary with the route and the fare class booked. In almost all cases, a traveler can avoid reissue charges by flying the ticketed itinerary.

In addition to the reissue fees of the airline, many agencies add a fixed processing or handling charge to reflect the agency's work in reissuing, such as US$20-$25.
