The counter to that is I would be nervouse not doing OCLI for an oversold flight because I do not want to get bumped (but I am thinking that it's not too likely as the fare is T+ and I have a selected seat and status.)

Any thoughts?

It's been a couple of years from me since I had status, but I found being friendly and asking if they need volunteers worked more than once - being E or SE helps. Smile, make light of the situation and definitely take no for an answer if that's what they say. You can probably tell pretty quickly if the GA is going to have any of it.

Where I got my boarding pass didn't matter.
