TRUE! It can be cool, even cold. You should look at places South of Sarasota, Boca Raton/Palm Beach. When it's cool in South Florida, it can be lousy and cold in North Florida.
When I look at the weather, Key West has the best weather. As posted, Key West has no, not many nice beaches, but other than that it's a nice place.
Some hotels I like:
Ritz Carlton, Naples - Breakers, Palm Beach - Biltmore, Miami/Coral Gables. Nice places are also Sanibel/Captiva and Boca Grande.
