My airport does not use HOT labels, but rather prints them on the tag. Downstairs we have what we refer to as a "HOT Can", namely the ULD containing baggage making hot connections (this container is the last one in and the first one out, regardless of whether it contains priority baggage or not, in order to give the baggage the best chances of making connections). Also, I have seen several times HON baggage is printed with HOT labels even on flights outside of the MCT (HON baggage is separated into the loose cargo compartment onboard so it can be easily retrieved without having to offload its container).
