looking at the Hawaii seatmaps this is entirely possible as very few seats appear taken and always see F9. Why the sudden change by UA though? Surely they end up alienating some of their best customers when families are split up and / or spread all over the F cabin.

If upgrades are not clearing, does that mean even fewer XF seats available too?

Does United generally release NF before XF?
