I mean the actual act of clearing, not just for flights after this time period whose upgrades cleared earlier. My sample size is small, but it consists of several flyertalkers. looking at the Hawaii seatmaps this is entirely possible as very few seats appear taken and always see F9. Why the sudden change by UA though? Surely they end up alienating some of their best customers when families are split up and / or spread all over the F cabin.
If upgrades are not clearing, does that mean even fewer XF seats available too?
Does United generally release NF before XF?
