Can I have CX remove my AA number from my ticket so the miles don't post and then, after Jan 1 request credit? Of course, for this to be effective, the credit would have to be to my 2009 miles/points, so that is my second question, will that be the case?

Thanks
It's the flight dates that matter, not the day the points/miles post.
Maybe you should shoot for the 125K bonus..... 25K miles or 2 EVIPS or something other stuff.
