Hello Flyertalkers,
I apologize for polluting this forum with this technical question, but hopefully some experts or professionals might help me answer this question.
I booked through
www.delta.com a round trip JFK-CDG-IAD-JFK this December. Delta created a master PNR (let’s name it PNR1) and as JFK-CDG and CDG-IAD legs are operated by AF, a second PNR (let’s call it PNR2) was created within AF’s CRS/GDS systems.
I booked my seats through via a Delta representative on the phone: 23A on the JFK-CDG (A-343) and 22J (B-772). 22J is confirmed by AF since when I go on
www.checkmytrip.com (Amadeus/AF system) with PNR2, I can see 22J requested and confirmed by AF (there is the green “checked sign” like a V). But 23A doesn’t show up! The 23A number is not even displayed on checkmytrip.
I called Delta and they told me to check with AF because AF confirms the seat request. But they were surprised because it generally takes a few minutes.
So I called AF Le Club and a very nice lady, when accessing my reservation via PNR2 told me that indeed she can see it is a Delta booking and that 23A was requested.
For some reason (she accesses the Delta cabin map and not the AF cabin map according to what she said), 23A was blocked (???) but 22A is available to her so she gave me 22A (even better).
When I went on checkmytrip, now seat 22A is displayed even though it is not confirmed yet (no green “checked” mark), but at least the request seems to be there.
The AF Le Club told me that she can try to speed up the confirmation on her side. When I asked her if it is going to interfere with the Master PNR (on Delta), she said she couldn’t tell and it was a tricky question. But that she cancelled the previous 23A request to put the 22A.
What scares me is that on Delta’s website, my reservation still shows 23A as the requested seat. Is there a risk that, as the master PNR and the son PNR have to communicate to each other to update information, nothing is going to be screwed up and that I will end up with no 22A nor 23A confirmed at all?
If someone was familiar with the GDS/CRS, master PNR and copies of PNR, I would be happy to have some answer…
Thanks a lot!
