I know that TK was a full-fledged partner when I took that flight---I would have preferred to bank those miles to AA since they were my primary carrier then, but TK had already made the switch to *A at that point. I think it happened in June, not July, but couldn't find the exact date when I did some quick googling.
I will send in a letter. If only to tell them that one agent I spoke to back in August told me to call TK directly just to get me off the phone. (When I told the second rep, who actually was quite good and had a clue, about what the first rep told me, he was horrified.)
I kinda got stuck flying UA by default, since its the only carrier to some of the places I work in. Some days I don't mind, but other days I wish I could go back to AA.
