I'm a 1K willing to be last in line to board and am usually the last in the red carpet line...but I want to be able to find space for my bag.

Wonder if they will ever reserve overhead space for the Elite flyer? I find no trill to board early and sit in my seat an extra 20mins. Not to add to be bumped by every other passenger boarding (if I am in the aisle seat). Even if I'm in FC the cup of water or juice is no incentive to board early.

Volunteered for a bump the other day in SFO...no announcement of not needing volunteers so I just boarded last and had to check my bag. Just like the guy in 30B.

I'm surprised UA hasn't seen reserving overhead space as another way to make a few more bucks. I might even pay $10 if I didn't have to wait 30mins to get my checked bag.
