Using Type B Voucher without physically going to UA Ticket Office?
I have a Type B Voucher but I live 1.5 hrs from the nearest UA ticket counter. Now I don't have a problem driving to the airport for a flight but driving to get the ticket issued than driving again for the flight would be a real pain in the a**! The T&Cs say it can be used with a travel agency but that it is not commissionable so that might be a pain and I prefer to do business directly with UA if possible.
Can I use this voucher without physically going to a UA ticket counter to redeem it? Specifically, can I book a ticket on .bomb or over the phone and then send the voucher in by mail? If I do that do I need to make sure the voucher gets there before the ticketing deadline (potentially requiring overnight mail service)? If I make the reservation by phone are there other fees that apply (I am 1K)?
One other question that I "think" I found the answer to in another thread but I will double check here....
My voucher is a residual amount from a ticket issued from another Type B voucher. The original voucher expired around 1/1/09. The new voucher says it was issued 11/4/08 and will expire 1 year from date of issue. Does this mean that by doing a partial use of a Type B voucher you can extend the validity of the residual for another year? (Other threads lead me to believe the answer is yes)
