I'm looking at various options for CO lounge access. Some include significant AC/AP benefits and I'm wondering if any of those would be better than something CO-only (thus asking here).
For example, Priority Pass membership would include access to the DL lounge when flying AC from FLL (discussed in another thread). It's not much of a discount off the DL day pass price ($27 vs $30) so its benefit in AC-FLL terms is limited.
American Express has a couple of cards that would give CO lounge access and also AC benefits:
- Amex Platinum has Membership Rewards which can be transferred to Aeroplan (though the site doesn't say if its $1=1AP). Also includes CO/DL/NW/AA lounge access. $399.
- Amex Aeroplan Platinum gives 1.25AP/$, 15K bonus, companion short-haul award ticket on AC, MLL membership, and Priority Pass membership. $499.
- Amex Aeroplan Gold gives 1AP/$, 10K bonus, $120. Obviously this one would not be the choice.
So if I figure the CO lounge access from the Amex Platinum is worth $100, are there any Aeroplan benefits that make one of these cards worth it?
Or is there any other way to get CO lounge access that includes benefits to an AC flyer in the longer term? Don't want to waste money on CO day passes if there's some clever AC-oriented way to do better.
Thanks!
