Ah yes!... If C is somewhat empty and they know that a set number of rows are going to me the minimum C cabin then you *CAN* book your seats (I have this as an example from GVA-FRA in Jan) However if the C cabin minimum rows seats are booked (like I have for a FRA-ZRH flight in Jan) you can put a request in as they reallocate the rows you will be assigned a seat (or do it on your own with the online check in). As one of the posters above mentioned LH C is a flexible cabin so no use booking a seat in a further back row that may be contracted before seatmap being open due to lower C demand.
