This year to date I redeemed 660k for upgrades, last year I redeemed 895k, similar in pervious years plus I have taken one C round trip to Milan for me and my wife. I have only 90k or so remaining with much lower earning capacity now.
I have aquuired miles at the fastest rate I can and used them as I earn them to make my business travel much more bearable so I was earning for UA upgrades rather than *A awards, I was also tied in to MP to earn additional SWU every 50k above 100k. I did toy with the idea of switching to AA when the E500 mess was going on but then they changed their minds so I stayed.
