If you are planning on going to INDIA then its a complete rip off sticking with BA. Earlier they had awards for 125,000 from US to India in First Class however now its 270K, which is more than a 100% increase.

Even if you plan on using BA miles to ASIA the redemption levels are attrocious.

I suggest you get the Starwood Card on Amex for $35 a year and move points from that to Delta. Now before you say that Delta doesnt have a 3 Class Cabin and pure First Class. I should let you know that you can use the Delta points for awards on Singapore Airlines. Which has great redemption opportunities. You can even move points from Starwood to Emirates, Cathay & Singapore respectively which have as good a First & Business Class product as BA does if not BETTER.

The Executive Club Team of BA has lost it by doing this and I sincerely hope they suffer and loose customers on this account due to this ridicoulous redemption levels in place. Who would pay 270K miles for a First Class ticket ? I think they are smoking something !!

Please let me know which city in Asia are you trying to target and accordingly I could suggest some more options.
