intruments are a very bad idea. i used to fly UA quite a bit, and the 500 miles e-certs were a royal pain in the ..., you get four for every 10,000 miles you acturally fly, which means the best case is getting 20% upgrade, but they are still subject to availibility. its one of the reasons why i switched to NW
