No, I respectfully don't think so. NW, DL and CO tout the "free upgrades". I don't see them moving to an instrument based system (ala UA or AA (for anyone lower than EXP)) without a major overhaul. I think it will just mean less rides upfront for folks and will look more like CO and its upgrade policies than NW over the last few years. YMMV.
