No comment on the overall situation, but I don't think
this particular case has anything at all to do with politics. Violent eviction tactics in Thailand are regrettably common, see eg. Chuwit's bulldozing of the bars on Suk Soi 10 with the help of 600 hired thugs and a vast slew of fires in slums conveniently timed for developers to take them over.
