Changing topic slightly: Isn't it true that if you have access to RCC (as a *Gold travelling internationally, for instance) you can bring also your family in?

I tried that last December when transiting FRA and it worked fine: the three of us (wife, kid and myself) where admitted without problems. I'm PremEx and wife and kid have no status. We were all travelling on Lufthansa.

Is there a limit to the number of family members you can bring in with you?
