On my call with United Customer Relations today, the agent said that on international flights giving a free ticket as DBC may be worthless to those who live abroad (since the free tickets are only good for travel within the lower 48). Thus, she said, only international flights get the $-OFF cert as DBC which directly contradicts what some of us (FlyerTalkers) are saying. I was just happy that she made a "one-time exception" for me!
