Reparing an international model cell phone

Hey all,

I've got a Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition phone that's stopped working on me. If I turn the phone on, the Nokia splash page comes up and then it goes to a blank screen with just the battery meter showing and none of the buttons (incl. power button) working. After 10-15 minutes it automatically shuts off. Phone powers on fine and I can access all functions w/o a SIM card though.

Anyways, I called Nokia USA and they said they were unable to help me cause this is an international model cell phone (Hong Kong). I bought this phone off of a friend, who in turn had bought it from myworldphone.com. Nokia HK doesn't seem to have any options for international user repair.

I have no idea how to proceed here. Does anybody have any experience with a problem like this? Maybe a non-Nokia phone repair service?
