AA will not pay for a hotel for you.

I understand the college student's financial comment, but no dice. You can not go, or work within the parameters of AA.

That might mean a night at an airport.

I would call AA and ask for the LAX/SFO routing.

Also, if you don't get the answer you want, and you can tell pretty early on in the conversation and hang up before the agents documents the whole story
