I think it's a great idea!

I've taken four flights (on AA, sorry) and people walk with these gi-normous bags as "carryons." Towards the end of boarding, the last passengers are bringing their bags forward so they can be checked -- and these passengers had otherwise a normal size carryon but there's no room because the overhead was full of oversized carryons!

Fair is fair.

.... don't get me started about passengers who place two bags in the overhead!
