Thanks Worthing, I did book through the BA Amex Card, so will take a look through that route if have problems with the insurance claim. The insurance company (Nat West) were pretty good when we finally got through to them.
Henkey, the reaction from the first guy I spoke to was just rude the other times I phoned I would say inflexible and uninterested was the perfect description.
My real bugbear was that I was prepared to pay to get home, but needed someone to take the initiative and tell me what my options were, rather than wait for me to ask the right questions.
