Screwed on EC Tier Status - Help?
I'm an EC member based in Paris. I flew 460 tier points last year, mostly with OneWorld airlines, but managed (or so I thought) to fly the 4 qualifying flights on BA to retain Silver.
However, even though the BAEC website clearly states that all of the 4 qualifying flights need to be operated by BA, they are now telling me that the flights have to be marketed by BA as well, and that the 2 BA-operated flights I booked through Iberia do not qualify.
I've raised the issue with the EC Service Centre for my region, and they've confirmed that the language on the website is not correct and that it should read operated and marketed. I replied that I was just going by their website in making sure I booked BA operated flights, and even asked for a supervisor. They've stood firm.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can chase this down? Is there an appropriate customer service contact to escalate this with? I've had at least Silver tier status since 2000, and I can't believe they want to lose me as a customer - although perhaps I'm not jaded enough.
Any help/suggestions will be most appreciated.
